چکیده
A total of 786 pigs (PIC TR4 × (Fast LW PIC L02); initially 213.2 lb ± 2.37 lb) were used to evaluate the effects increasing soybean meal (SBM) in corn-wheat middsbased diets on growth performance late finishing pigs. Pens blocked by BW and randomly assigned 1 5 treatments with 9 replications per treatment. Experimental corn-based 30% wheat midds. Soybean levels increased from 0 16% replacing added feed grade AA. weighed ADG, ADFI, F/G. Data analyzed GLIMMIX procedure SAS pen was considered as experimental unit. The statistical model fixed dietary treatment, linear, quadratic, cubic contrasts, random block. Overall, final (linear, P < 0.05) SBM increased. Additionally, overall ADG F/G improved (linear cubic; no differences ADFI. Although formulated exceed minimum NRC nutrient requirement estimates, we suspect that Trp:Lys ratio diet may explain responses observed. These results suggest corn-soybean meal-based midds for should contain at least 4% SBM.

Effects of increasing L-lysine HCl in corn- or sorghum-soybean meal-based diets on growth performance and carcass characteristics of growing-finishing pigs.
We conducted three experiments to determine the effects of increasing L-lysine HCl in growing-finishing pig diets. Experiments 1 and 2, conducted at the Kansas State University research center, each used 360 growing-finishing pigs with initial BW of 56 and 63 kg, respectively. Dietary treatments were sorghum- (Exp. 1) or corn- (Exp. 2) soybean meal-based and consisted of a control (no L-lysine ...

A total of 120 pigs (60 barrows and 60 gilts; TR4 × PIC 1050; 54.4 kg initial BW) were used in an 83-d study to evaluate the effects of added fat in corn- and sorghum-based diets on growth performance, carcass characteristics, and carcass fat quality. Treatments were arranged in a 2 × 3 factorial with grain source (corn or sorghum) and added fat (0, 2.5, or 5% choice white grease; CWG) as facto...

Two experiments were conducted to determine the effects of pelleting, diet type (fat and fiber level), and withdrawal of dietary fiber and fat before marketing on growth performance, carcass yield, and carcass fat iodine value (IV) of finishing pigs. Each experiment used 288 pigs (initially 49.6 and 48.5 kg BW, respectively) with 6 dietary treatments arranged as 2 × 3 factorials. In Exp. 1, mai...

This study was designed to determine the effects of hydrolyzed feather meal inclusion on growth performance, carcass characteristics, nutrient digestibility and fecal odorous compounds in modern lean growth genotype pigs. Two hundred forty pigs (BW = 23.2 +/- 1.3 kg) were allotted based on BW and sex to a 2 x 6 factorial arrangement of treatments (four pens per treatment; five pigs per pen) in ...

The objectives of this experiment were to determine effects of reducing particle size on growth performance, carcass characteristics, stomach morphology, and VFA concentration in the hindgut of growing-finishing pigs if diets were formulated to a constant ME. Thirty-six gilts and 36 barrows (32.00 ± 1.58 kg initial BW) were individually penned and randomly allotted to 4 dietary treatments in a ...
